  • Tom Stacy

    Founder

    Tom Stacy founded T. Stacy & Associates, Inc. in 1994 as a fully integrated commercial real estate firm specializing in leasing, development, acquisition, and property management. In 2012, he partnered with Steve LeBlanc, and together they founded CapRidge Partners, LLC. CapRidge is a vertically integrated commercial real estate operator, investor, and fund manager that combines the operating platform and history of T. Stacy & Associates with the institutional investment expertise of Mr. LeBlanc. Headquartered in Austin, the firm serves select growth markets in the Southeast, Southwest, and Mountain West. Above all else, CapRidge is dedicated to providing superior service to its tenants, clients, partners, and investors. For over 20 years, Mr. Stacy has been instrumental in acquiring, managing, and enhancing the value of office buildings, mixed-use projects, and hotels. His keen sense for reading the market has enabled T. Stacy and CapRidge to successfully purchase, reposition, and sell numerous assets throughout the United States. With a long-term track record of success and dedication to community service, Mr. Stacy has been a vocal supporter of economic development in downtown Austin and his local community. In 1997 and 2009, Mr. Stacy served as the chairman of the Downtown Austin Alliance (DAA), a property improvement district (PID) seeking to make the downtown area cleaner, safer, and more economically vibrant. In 1999, the DAA honored Mr. Stacy with the prestigious “Individual IMPACT” award for his contributions to downtown Austin, particularly the inspirational renovation of the historic Scarbrough Building and Littlefield Complex. In 2001, his firm received the DAA’s “Project IMPACT” award for the restoration of the historic Stephen F. Austin InterContinental Hotel. In 2008, he received Concordia University’s 2nd annual “Excellence in Leadership” award, which honors a Christian leader. In 2015, the Urban Land Institute Austin presented Mr. Stacy with its inaugural “Vision Award” for his leadership and lasting contribution to the Central Texas region. Mr. Stacy is a charter member of Austin Baptist Church and serves as a deacon. He was instrumental in the construction of its campus, having served as chairman of the Building and Design Committee for two building campaigns. Mr. Stacy currently serves or has served on the following: Visit Austin, Chairman (2018-20) Texas Tech University Foundation Board Concordia University Foundation Board Downtown Austin Alliance, Chairman (1996-97, 2008-09) Preservation Austin, President (2013-14) The Texas Business Leadership Council Community Partnership for the Homeless/Green Doors, past President Texas Association of Realtors Political Action Committee (TREPAC), past Chairman Originally from Levelland, Texas, Mr. Stacy earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing from Texas Tech University. He is a licensed Texas Real Estate Broker, a member of the Central Texas Commercial Association of Real Estate Professionals (CTCAR), and the Urban Land Institute (ULI). In addition, Mr. Stacy is an accomplished pilot, having achieved the highest level of aircraft pilot certification, Airline Transport Pilot (ATP), with multiple jet type ratings.

  • Kevin Black

    Chief Operating Officer & Partner

    Mr. Black oversees all company and fund related activity along with directing the acquisition and asset management team. Mr. Black was also a Principal with T. Stacy & Associates prior to CapRidge, having worked with Mr. Stacy since 2000. Prior to CapRidge and T. Stacy, Mr. Black worked in acquisitions and closing with Archon Group. Archon is an international full-service real estate investment management and support services company and a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. that managed in excess of $50 billion in real estate and loan assets. During his tenure at Archon, he specialized in office, multi-family and data center properties. Prior to that Mr. Black was with Emerson Partners, a commercial real estate investment company in Dallas, TX, which specialized in office, land, flex and industrial properties. To date Mr. Black has completed the acquisition, disposition and financing of over $4 billion in investments. Mr. Black has a degree in Finance from the University of Texas at Arlington and is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) Designee. He is a licensed Texas and Arizona Real Estate Broker and is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).

  • Stuart Bernstein

    Partner

    Mr. Bernstein is the former Director of the $2B Emerging Manager Program at the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (“TRS”) overseeing investments in early stage or middle market opportunities across real estate and private equity. The TRS Emerging Manager Program consisted of over 130 commitments. Mr. Bernstein was instrumental in the creation of the $6B private markets’ strategic partnership network at TRS. In addition, he served as Chief of Staff to the Chief Investment Officer. Under Bernstein’s leadership the TRS Emerging Manager Program has been recognized across the institutional industry, having received several awards and honors. Prior to TRS, he worked at Lehman Brothers Investment Management Division focusing on asset management and capital markets until October 2007. Before joining Lehman Brothers, he served 5 years as Executive Aide to Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst. Over the 5 year period, Stuart worked directly for Lieutenant Governor Dewhurst at the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, state-wide campaign for Lieutenant Governor and the Texas General Land Office. In addition to his active involvement with charities throughout the state, he is the founder and Chairman emeritus of Young Texans Against Cancer (ytac.org). YTAC was started in 2001 and has grown to four chapters in Austin, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, raising over $3 million and contributing over 35,000 hour of volunteer work for cancer related causes. He currently serves in a number of investment board positions including Trellis Company Foundation, Seton Hospital Foundation and Boy Scouts of Central Texas Foundation. Stuart was appointed to the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Hospital Advance Team Board, Robert Toigo Governing Board, President of the Seton Hospital Forum, Texas Golf Hall of Fame, and served as a Director of the Texas Lyceum. In addition, he served on the University of Texas at Austin 1883 Council as President. Stuart has received the United States of America Presidential Volunteer Service Award and The University of Texas Outstanding Young Texas Exes Award. He received his BA and MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
