  Laura Ramos James

  Named "Changemaker" by Austin Woman Magazine for 2025, Winner of the 2023 Austin Woman’s Magazine “Woman’s Way” Award and the “Advocacy and Activism” Award by the Latina Foundation, Laura Ramos James is one of the most recognized Lawyers in Texas and a women attorney who has supported disadvantaged communities in Austin and South Texas for several years. A personal injury victim herself, Laura hoped that one day she’d be the loud and fierce voice of those who could not speak on their own behalf in court and amplify the voice of those who could. After graduating law school at Baylor Law with honors, Laura began the arduous professional path that culminated in the founding of Ramos James Law, PLLC in 2018. With well over a decade of legal experience, Laura has successfully handled hundreds of personal injury cases involving auto and trucking accidents, drunk driving accidents, distracted driver accidents, commercial vehicle accidents, work injury, product liability, Texas Health Care Liability claims, sexual assault cases, complex construction accident and construction defects, catastrophic injury, wrongful death cases and more. For Laura, the most significant and transforming influence in her life has been becoming the mother of two little girls with her husband Jon: Victoria & Alexandra. She is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts and in federal court in the U.S. District Courts of the Southern and Western Districts. In January of 2024, Laura was celebrated by Austin Woman magazine again, being named a Change Maker in their inaugural Change Maker List amongst other incredible women implementing positive change in our city. Austin Monthly Magazine has commemorated Laura as one of Austin's #1 Personal Injury Attorneys for 2022 and 2023. Additionally, in 2022, she was named 2022 “Woman Leader of the Year” by local Non-Profit Organization AMHIGA. Laura is a sought-after speaker at legal seminars and non-profit organization workshops. She is a two-time Amazon best seller author, contributing chapters to the books “Law Moms: Juggling Motherhood, Ambition, and Personal Fulfillment” and “Point Taken: Brilliant Business Advice from Women at the Top”.   Ryan Toomey

  Managing Attorney

  Whether he is drafting demand letters, litigating a lawsuit, or pushing a case forward, Ryan approaches his interactions with clients and insurance companies with zeal, and he is personally invested in every case he takes on. This combination of love for the law and a strong sense of altruism has led him to become a personal injury lawyer. As the firm’s Managing Attorney, Ryan leads the legal team and handles some of the firm’s most complex and high-stakes cases, ensuring that each client receives the advocacy and attention their case deserves. Ryan has had a significant impact on numerous catastrophic injury cases since beginning his practice. He previously worked on a vast array of personal injury cases with different firms in Austin and San Antonio, where he gained experience with many different types of injury cases, giving him the knowledge base and ability to excel at advocating for his clients. Early in his life, Ryan first became passionate about pursuing a career in law after reading John Grisham’s legal thriller, The Firm. In addition, his father and grandfather had illustrious careers in law enforcement and instilled in him a deep-seated desire to help others and to bring justice to those in need. A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, Ryan graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He also received the Chancellor’s List recognition for every semester that he attended the school. Ryan went on to graduate magna cum laude with his juris doctorate from the Baylor University School of Law. While there, he served as an articles editor for the Baylor Law Review and as an intern for a morning radio program based in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. He also won the Patton Roberts, PLLC Award for his accomplishments as a student. He continues to serve as a member of Baylor’s Order of the Barristers. Over the years, this esteemed litigator has benefited his professional community as a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association.
