  Unlike many other dentists in the Austin, TX, community, our office is far from corporate. We consider ourselves an integral part of the local community. Dr. Ip is a native Texan and attended college in Austin. Our office supports local sports teams and schools, among other organizations, to show our appreciation and give back. All of the charts at our Austin office charts are paperless. We use digital x-rays (which also expose patients to lower levels of radiation), and we take care to recycle as many dentistry materials as we can. Our dentist also includes sterilizable instruments and supplies over single-use varieties in our daily practices.

  Oral Appliance Therapy

  If heavy snoring and obstructive sleep apnea affect your ability to get a good night's sleep, Dr. Ip can help. Our team can craft a custom oral appliance to relieve mild-to-moderate OSA. This simple oral device means you can avoid using a CPAP machine and the need for more invasive sleep apnea therapy. People diagnosed with central sleep apnea, complex sleep apnea, or severe OSA may not be candidates for an appliance, but we can still find solutions for their problems.   Sleep Apnea Treatment

  The most common form of this condition is obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Obstructive sleep apnea occurs when the tongue, soft palate, or throat tissues relax and block your airways while you sleep. In addition to OSA, people may also suffer from central sleep apnea (CSA). Central sleep apnea occurs when your brain cannot control the muscles responsible for normal respiration during sleep.
